Hannah Banana; a supporter of us in good times and bad times; someone who has believed in us
from the eighth grade; an occasional saint who tolerated ink flicking, note passing, pen throwing,
disco dancing, noise making, foot stomping, gum chewing and our numerous other virtuous charac-
teristics that gave you tension headaches and ink stained clothing; a teacher of creative writing,
poetry appreciation, Homer and Twain; someone who enjoys junk-food as much as we do and gives
us parties on occasion; a very distinctive drawl and strut; a most amazing woman of great patience,
concern, and maternal instinct. For these definitions you ”r" our choice for the Dedication and if
we could we would ”w” fifteen fold times to carry you with each of us throughout our post St. Mar-

Miss Woolfolk’s
Letter
Dear Class of '77^
From beginning to end;
From start to finish;
From first to last;
From A to Z,
You have been great!
Enthusiastie and friendly - Absolutely!
You've welcomed new girls and patiently, with deep cnncern, helped them
to find their places. You've painted and cooked and sewed until your
bazaar, for instance, was an eminent success.
Recreation, with contemplation^ too ~ Decidedly!
Some of your hockey games bordered on the frenetic. You helped make
Mrs. Anthony's ordination gloriously impressive. And you've loved the
river and the sunsets and the moon.
Studies and leisure , also - 0f course!
You've prided yourelves on maintaining high averages but you've always
treasured your fun times as well.
Good appetites - Oh yes !
Not only for popcorn and pizza but for books and television and travel
and music and plays - really for "life".
Lunatic - That, too!
A beautiful zany loving lunacy that has laughed "with", not "at" - thus
adding another characteristic to make you memorable.
Farewell dear '77 ~ We will miss you, truly we will!
But we want you to go, for everything has its time and season, and this
is your season for growing and y^ur time for moving on;
From Z , to a new A ;
From this last to a new first;
From this finish to a new start;
From this ending to a bright beautiful new beginning.
We wish you luck and God Speed. We will always love you. "To thine
own self be true".

The Class of '77: Gutter Girls; Delinquent school girls; bubble gum; big wheels; riding permission;
dancing; looking forward to college; obnoxious; ice cream; class meetings; our bazaar; first week
qualms; crazy; proctoring those study halls; a dirty A-house kitchen; having our own beach; that cold
day in February when we got our picture taken in our white dresses and our bean siders, top siders,
tennis shoes and wallabees; varied interests; living in A-house; more freedom; memories of Latane;
Pigouts; those C.C.S. socials; little sisters; honeys; pandemonium outbreaks in A-house; our idol,
Hunter; man aboard; gaining weight; slight misunderstandings; close friends; English class and those
puns; loving the river; being free enough to be as young as we want; a very warm day in early June 1977
when all these will be memories and many of us will be bound for Virginia Beach.
